About this position
Job Purpose
The Business Applications Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing the use of business-critical applications throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will serve as a key problem-solver, and act as a bridge between our MSP, IT Vendors, Operations, Accounting, Warehousing, and Customer teams.
The Specialist will initially lead in-flight projects through completion (EDI Integrations & ERP Lot Code Adoption). Upon completion, they will champion longer term business application initiatives (AP Automation, Purchase Order optimization, and HR Workflows among others) from solution discovery through implementation.

ERP and Business Application Management
- Gain robust knowledge of all native modules within SAGE 100, including bolt-ons for Scanforce and Mapadoc with goal of becoming a Super User
- Leverage Redzone Productivity system to drive business insights and enhance operational reporting tools
- Manage security and user roles for SAGE 100
- Broad understanding of IT, Accounting, and Operational processes and how those environments intersect with related software applications
EDI Management & Integration
- Lead the onboarding of new EDI trading partners, coordinating requirements, testing, and maintaining ongoing integrations for accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as the technical lead on EDI-related projects, translating customer requirements into robust solutions using internal ERP and third-party platforms.
- Act as a liaison between SPS Commerce, our 3rd party EDI partner, customers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor daily EDI transaction flows for errors or delays; troubleshoot failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to ensure system uptime and data integrity.
- Manage project timelines, collaborating with internal stakeholders and third-party software providers to deliver on schedule.
- Document integration setups, troubleshooting guides, and EDI best practices; provide training to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Customer & Partner Support
- Act as the main technical point of contact for customer teams at large CPG companies and major retail partners.
- Navigate complex customer portal frameworks and adapt data flows accordingly.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and documentation for customer-specific processes and integration requirements.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Warehouse, Accounts Receivable, etc.) to identify, automate, and streamline manual processes for both internal teams and external partners.
- Proactively recommend and implement enhancements to EDI, ERP, and related business processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
Education and Experience
Required Experience
- Experience with EDI integrations and onboarding
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems – SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Netsuite; experience with SAGE 100 highly preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (Scanforce), shipping software (Starship), and process monitoring platforms (Redzone) is a plus.
- Experience writing and interpreting SQL queries and working with data formats such as XML and JSON.
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical users.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, supply chain, or CPG environment.
- Familiarity with customer portals for major retailers.
- Demonstrated ability to document processes and train end users.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Accounting or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., EDI mapping tools, ERP systems, integration platforms, APICS).

- Prolonged Sitting: The position requires extended periods of sitting at a workstation, often for several hours at a time.
Travel Required
- This position may travel between different manufacturing facilities as needed, all located within 30 min of each other and may need to be at more than one facility on the same day
