SALARY: $54,422– $72,229

SCHEDULE: Thisis a full-time position with regular weekday hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Candidatesmust be available to respond to emergencies and perform work outside of thesehours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The MercerCounty Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking anexperienced Senior Traffic Signal Electrician to join our team. This positioninvolves performing skilled electrical work related to the installation,repair, and maintenance of traffic signal systems throughout Mercer County. TheSenior Traffic Signal Electrician will serve as a lead technician, providingdirection to other electricians and ensuring all traffic control systemsoperate safely and efficiently.

Thisposition offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician toadvance in the public sector while contributing to the safety and reliabilityof the County's transportation network.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performadvanced installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems,including conduits, cables, signal heads, and electronic control components.
  • Plan andexecute complex electrical wiring and cable hookups for traffic controldevices.
  • Install,calibrate, and maintain traffic signal controllers, radar detection equipment,and flashing beacons.
  • Erect,repair, and maintain automatic and manual traffic signals and timingmechanisms.
  • Conductbench testing and preventive maintenance of traffic control equipment.
  • Operatevehicles and equipment required for traffic signal work.
  • Lead,assign, and instruct other traffic signal electricians and maintenance staff.
  • Inspect,store, and maintain tools, materials, and supplies necessary for electricaloperations.
  • Maintainaccurate work orders, inspection logs, and maintenance reports.
  • Follow andenforce all safety regulations and electrical codes.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four (4)years of experience in traffic signal installation and repair, electricalmaintenance, or as a wireman in electromechanical assembly.
  • Valid NewJersey Driver's License required.
  • ACommercial Driver's License (CDL) with applicable endorsements may be required,depending on assigned duties.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Thoroughknowledge of traffic signal system installation, repair, and maintenancetechniques.
  • Ability todiagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in traffic control systems.
  • Skill ininterpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability toperform emergency repairs safely and efficiently under adverse conditions.
  • Strongleadership and communication skills to direct other employees.
  • Proficiencyin preparing maintenance reports and maintaining accurate service records.
  • Competencein using electronic and manual record-keeping systems.
  • Commitmentto safe work practices and adherence to County safety standards.
