Position Summary 

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording all incoming  materials, supplies, and equipment. This role ensures accuracy of deliveries, maintains  organized records, and supports warehouse/production operations by ensuring materials are  available and properly routed to the correct location. 


Responsibilities  

  • Receive all incoming shipments, verifying quantities, descriptions, and quality of materials.  
  • Inspect items for damage, defects, or inconsistencies; report any discrepancies 
  • Match packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documents. 
  • Unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment. 
  • Enter received materials into the inventory system accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Label and tag incoming materials following company standards. 
  • Maintain organized records of all receipts and discrepancies. 
  • Communicate receipt confirmations or issues to purchasing. 
  • Move materials to designated storage locations, staging areas, or production departments. 
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in receiving docks and warehouse areas. 
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and unloading priority with drivers, purchasing, and  production leads. 
  • Notify appropriate teams when critical or urgent materials arrive. 
  • Collaborate with Quality Control when materials require additional inspection or  verification. 
Requirements:

 Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • 1–2 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience preferred. 
  • Basic computer skills; prior experience with inventory systems a plus. 
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams 
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment. 
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings and background checks 
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork. 
  • Can read MTR's
  • Knows about fasteners
  • Inventory control experience

Physical Requirements 

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours) 
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently 
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required 
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity 
  • Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment 
  • Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects 
  • Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings, fitness for duty test (e.g., lifting  assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.) 
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and  hearing protection 

Work Environment 

Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp materials, and moderate  to loud noise. May be exposed to hot or cold environments depending on season. Work schedule  may include overtime, weekend shifts, or on-call schedules as needed.
