About the Role:

The RN House Supervisor at Morgan Medical Center serves as a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing nursing operations during the weekends and night shift to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position acts as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and hospital administration, facilitating effective communication and swift resolution of clinical and operational issues. The House Supervisor is accountable for managing staffing levels, coordinating patient flow, and responding to emergencies or unexpected situations to maintain a safe and efficient care environment. By providing guidance and support to nursing teams, the supervisor fosters a collaborative atmosphere that promotes adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards. Ultimately, this role ensures that all nursing activities during the night shift align with the hospital’s mission to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital operations, patient care standards, and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher.
  • Experience working night shifts in a supervisory capacity.
  • Certification in Nurse Leadership or Management (e.g., CNML, NE-BC).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and hospital information technology.
  • Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and team building.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities during the weekend and night shift to maintain optimal patient care standards.
  • Monitor patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure smooth patient flow and bed availability.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical and operational issues, providing timely decision-making and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, ancillary services, and administration to address patient care needs and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements through ongoing staff education and performance monitoring.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, staffing shortages, and unexpected situations to maintain continuity of care.
  • Conduct rounds to assess patient care quality and staff performance, providing coaching and support as needed.
  • Document and report significant events, incidents, and operational challenges to hospital leadership.
