Position: Full-Time 

Wage: $16.17 – $18.77 per hour, depending on experience, with additional shift differentials for evening shifts.

Position Summary

The  Environmental Services Technician  is responsible for cleaning assigned areas in the hospital facility of Cherry County Hospital and Clinic.


Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Cleans labor and delivery room after a delivery during regular housekeeping hours
  • Mops, waxes, dusts, and vacuums floors as assigned
  • Washes walls, windows and bathroom units
  • Daily cleans occupied patient rooms according to procedure
  • After patient dismissal, does terminal cleaning of patient room in preparation for new admission
  • Restocks supplies in patient rooms
  • Maintains isolation techniques when cleaning designated rooms
  • Cleans departments, public area and offices according to procedure
  • Reports unsafe and inoperable equipment to supervisor
  • Attends and participates in workshops and educational programs as required by supervisor
  • Assists other departments as able and qualified
  • Ensures the confidentiality of patients’ medical, personal, and financial records is maintained
  • Knowledgeable of and committed to practicing Corporate Compliance policies and procedures
  • Complies with Cherry County Hospital personnel policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand and walk during most of the day
  • Able to perform repetitive bending activities and repetitive movements of upper extremities
  • Able to use electrical appliances for housekeeping activities safely
  • Able to handle potentially hazardous materials safely 
  • Ability to keep busy at all times
  • Ability to see something that needs cleaned and cleans it
  • Is aware of safety issues when carts and all other equipment are in use such as mop handles, cords to equipment, handles of equipment

Requirements:

 Minimum Job Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Graduate of grammar school desirable
  • On the job training acceptable
