Our law firm is looking for the next associate attorney to assist in providing legal counsel toclients. You will work closely with our senior partners and associates, conduct legal research, draft documents, and maintain client files. Compensation:

$90,000 - $100,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action
  • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
  • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
  • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
  • Management, oversight, and primary responsibility for all estate administration matters
  • Conduct follow-up call with probate clients
  • Determine a plan for the administration of the Estate, what information is needed from the client, and communicate with the Estate Administration Team on next steps
  • Review pleading drafts prepared by Estate Administration Legal Assistants and Paralegals
  • Ensure that pleadings are submitted according to estate timelines
  • Resolve any issues with the court surrounding a probate matter
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients through email, phone, and in-person meetings
  • Ensure that all time is tracked accurately and submitted on time by the end of each week
Qualifications:
  • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
  • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
  • Successful completion of the bar exam
  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
  • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
  • Comfortable with technology and web-based apps
  • Ability to consistently track and enter billable time in practice management software
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills


Education and Experience:

  • J.D. from an accredited Law School
  • Active Massachusetts Bar Licensure
  • 2-3 years of experience in Massachusetts probate matters as a primary concentration


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
