Description:

Overall responsibility is to provide mechanical, electrical and controls support to packaging as needed, including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance (PM), changeover, modifications, and repair of line equipment to ensure operating efficiently; within FDA CFR 111, 117, 210 & 211 regulated manufacturing facility. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

· Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery in the packaging area.

· Set up production lines as instructed by daily management tracker.

· Effectively and accurately troubleshoot and make routine adjustments and repairs to equipment and machinery to maintain production and maintenance schedules. 

· Disassemble machinery and equipment to determine worn or broken parts, repair or replace necessary parts by using new parts from stock or by fabricating manufacturing parts to machinery or equipment.

· Continually check equipment and machines to proper function for quality, safety, and quantity. 

· Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. 

· Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery. 

· Cleaning, repairing, and installing equipment and parts as needed.

· Operating a variety of hand and power tools.

· Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

· Manage the Operators 

· Train the Operators 

· Engage in effective communication with the official technician of the equipment they need assisting for troubleshooting or diagnosis.

· Capable of performing electrical troubleshooting on the equipment.

· Read and interpret documents such as SOP / GMP, Safety Rules, Operating and Maintenance Instructions.

· Diagnose and repair electrical faults (PLC, fuses, relays, etc.)


Nonessential Functions/Demands:

· Cover the mechanic manager function when applicable.

· Uncrate machinery

· Assist in maintaining a safe work environment in the production areas by performing routine audits and reporting results.

· General understanding of customer specifications.

· Hands on in running equipment.

· Attention to detail.

· Organized, motivated team player.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· High school diploma/GED or Technical Degree.

· 5+ years’ experience as maintenance mechanic.

· Knowledge and adherence to GMP’s.

· Knowledge of packaging machinery, specifically bottle, pouch, cartoning, thermoform and cold form blisters.

· Ability to ready and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational/time management skills.

· Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

· Manager: Director of Production

· Managerial Responsibility: N/A


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

· Must be able to remain standing for up to 90% of the time.

· Must be able to lift-up 10 pounds frequently and 50 pounds on occasion.

· Continually required to talk or hear.

· Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.

· While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

· The person in this position will need to occasionally kneel, climb, crawl, climb and/or reach to complete job duties.

· The person in this position is required to communicate to all other departments and must be able to exchange accurate information in these circumstances. 



Salary Information

$35.00 - $38.00 Hourly Wage
