Position Summary
The HR Generalist supports daily human resources operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners with leadership and employees to ensure effective HR practices across recruiting, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and payroll support. The HR Generalist plays a key role in strengthening HR infrastructure to support company growth. This role is required to be on site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and workplace concerns
- Support investigations related to employee relations matters
- Partner with supervisors to address performance concerns and documentation
- Promote a positive, compliant, and productive work environment
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions
- Coordinate interviews and hiring manager communication
- Facilitate onboarding, including new hire paperwork and orientation
- Ensure I-9 and compliance documentation is completed accurately and timely
Performance Management
- Support performance review processes and documentation
- Coach managers on performance improvement plans and corrective actions
- Assist with employee development initiatives
Compliance & Policy Administration
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support OSHA, safety, and workers’ compensation processes in partnership with operations
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS (Paylocity or equivalent)
- Assist with policy updates and handbook administration
Payroll & Benefits Support
- Support payroll processing and timekeeping accuracy
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions
- Coordinate leave of absence tracking (FMLA, ADA, etc.)
HR Operations & Projects
- Support HR initiatives aligned with company growth goals
- Maintain HR metrics and reporting
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- = 1+ years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience supporting hourly workforce preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Strong employee relations and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage confidential information
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (Paylocity experience a plus)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
- Office-based role within a manufacturing facility
- Regular interaction with production floor employees and leadership
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
