Alloy is seeking a Senior SEO & Search Strategist to lead organic search strategy across a portfolio of clients. This role is responsible for translating business goals into actionable search initiatives, guiding day-to-day SEO direction, and playing a critical part in helping clients adapt to AI-native search experiences, including generative results, entity-driven discovery, and evolving zero-click environments.
This is a strategic, client-facing role focused on ownership and decision-making, serving as the primary day-to-day search owner on assigned accounts. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading accounts and is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy in setting priorities, making data-backed recommendations, and partnering closely with internal analytics, content, and paid media teams guiding execution to drive measurable growth.
The position reports to the Director of SEO & Analytics and plays a key role in scaling Alloy’s next phase of search strategy, including AEO and generative search visibility.
Primary Responsibilities
This is a hands-on strategic role. The ideal candidate can both define direction and execute key initiatives when needed, ensuring strategies move from recommendation to real-world impact. They should be comfortable independently leading client engagements and representing search strategy in executive-level conversations.
Search Strategy Leadership (SEO/AEO)
- Own SEO strategy for assigned client accounts from planning through execution and optimization.
- Direct keyword and intent strategy, identifying where search can drive measurable business impact and guiding supporting research.
- Develop quarterly roadmaps aligned to business goals, not just rankings or traffic.
- Develop and implement strategies that improve visibility within AI-generated results, answer engines, and entity-based discovery systems, aligning content and technical structure to support AI-native search experiences.
- Guide structured content, schema, entity optimization, and content formatting strategies to increase visibility in AI summaries, featured snippets, and conversational search environments.
- Support website launches, redesigns, and migrations by ensuring SEO best practices are incorporated from planning through post launch validation, including site architecture, content mapping, redirect strategy, and search performance continuity.
- Translate complex search trends into clear client recommendations and priorities.
- Lead client conversations related to performance, opportunities, and strategic direction.
- Proactively evaluate industry shifts and translate emerging search developments into actionable strategy.
- Ensure recommendations are implemented by driving projects forward, removing blockers, and maintaining momentum across client teams.
- Accountable for driving measurable organic growth across assigned accounts, with clear alignment to client business objectives.
Performance Analysis & Insights
- Use analytics platforms to evaluate search performance and uncover growth opportunities.
- Connect SEO outcomes to meaningful business metrics such as conversions, pipeline, and engagement.
- Evaluate and adapt strategies based on shifts in AI-generated search visibility and user interaction patterns.
- Partner with analytics teams to ensure the right measurement frameworks are in place.
- Provide insight-driven reporting that explains what happened, why it happened, and what to do next.
Strategic Execution & Implementation Leadership
- Lead implementation of high-impact SEO initiatives while guiding broader execution across teams.
- Personally execute critical workstreams when speed, complexity, or visibility requires senior ownership.
- Translate strategy into actionable deliverables such as content briefs, optimization plans, and technical recommendations.
- Partner with developers, content teams, and analysts to ensure initiatives are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Validate outcomes post-launch and adjust based on performance data.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the search lead within integrated client teams that include paid media, analytics, and creative.
- Provide SEO perspective during campaign planning and site initiatives.
- Support internal knowledge building around AI driven search behavior.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5-8 years of demonstrable experience in SEO, organic search strategy, or digital search consulting, preferably working at a marketing agency..
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive actionable insights from campaign data using tools like Google Analytics and Looker Studio.
- SEO Tools: Familiarity with SEO and keyword research tools (e.g., ScreamingFrog, Ahrefs, Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush).
- AI Search: Strong understanding of AI-driven search experiences, including generative search results, entity-based indexing, structured data, and zero-click search dynamics.
- Certifications: Google Analytics proficiency required. Certification is a plus. Experience working with Google Search Console and Google Tag Manager is necessary.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in a related field (Marketing, Advertising, Finance, Economics, or Business Development) is desired.

Location & Requirements
