About this position

  LifeCare is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing software, insurance regulations, and exceptional communication skills to effectively respond to inquiries from patients and insurance providers. This position also requires a high level of accuracy and discretion in handling patient data and maintaining confidentiality. 

 

Medical Biller Key Responsibilities: 

Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal and state healthcare billing and reimbursement regulations.Follow internal policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue cycle.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, to ensure smooth integration and execution of revenue-related processes.Partner with billing and coding team members to maintain uninterrupted daily workflows.Engage with payers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and reimbursement issues. 

Medical Billing Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Proficient in HCPCS, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology.Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial insurance carriers.Demonstrated ability to follow organizational policies and procedures.Capable of self-monitoring performance and making improvements as needed.Strong critical thinking, communication, and conflict resolution skills.Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting. 

Medical Billing Education and Experience: 

Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management preferred.Certification in Medical Billing and Coding or equivalent relevant experience.Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare billing, reimbursement processes, and regulatory compliance.Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

Medical Billing Work Environment: 

Open-concept office design that encourages collaboration and clear communication among team members.Must be able to sit for extended periods.Regular use of computers, monitors, keyboards, and other office equipment.
