About the Role
Talantage LLP is seeking a mid-level associate (4–6 years of experience) to join the Real Estate practice of our global law firm client in San Diego. This position offers the chance to work closely with partners and clients on a wide range of real estate transactions and projects, while enjoying the benefits of a collaborative, team-oriented environment that combines strong local connections with the resources of a global platform.
The firm's fully integrated Real Estate group provides practical, forward-thinking counsel at every stage of the real estate life cycle, empowering clients to achieve strategic goals in a competitive marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
The associate selected for this position will:
  • Represent lenders, investors, developers, and owners in acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing, and development of real property across all major asset classes (office, retail, industrial, multifamily, and mixed-use).
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, leases, development agreements, and other real estate-related contracts.
  • Coordinate and close real estate transactions, including title and survey review, due diligence, zoning and land-use analysis, and entity formation.
  • Advise clients on construction, development, and joint venture arrangements, as well as day-to-day asset management issues.
  • Mentor junior associates, oversee work streams, and ensure client deliverables are accurate and timely.
Qualifications

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and practical work product.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a solid grasp of complex real estate concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-first mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach with enthusiasm for mentorship and shared success.
Technical Skills
  • Minimum of 4 years of sophisticated real estate practice experience.
  • Experience handling matters in acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing, and development (financing experience required).
  • Prior large law firm experience required.
Other Requirements
  • Admission to, and good standing with, the State Bar of California.
  • Submission of a resume and law school transcript required.
