About this position

Reporting to the CEO of JVS SoCal, the President will coordinate and direct programs and activities of JVS Social Ventures in accordance with the business plan; perform leadership duties in the administration of the social enterprise; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.


Salary Information

$200000 - $210000 Annual Salary

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirement of a bachelor’s degree - Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience with higher education and/or career education.
  • Experience leading teams in complex/matrix organizations.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as on a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work. Work well under deadline pressures.
  • Excellent human relations skills. Ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Understanding of and commitment to quality improvement.
  • Position requires occasional travel outside the Los Angeles market that could require overnight stay.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate and articulate a vision of JVS Social Ventures that addresses the evolving social, economic, and political forces that affect its mission and priorities in which learning, student access and student career success and job placement are central to the mission.
  • Provide leadership and coordination in support of career, technical and emerging occupational education programs and services.
  • Manage both the social and commercial missions of the social enterprise to serve the needs of students, employer partners, regional partners, and the organization.
  • Establish and carry out organizational procedures, goals and policies
  • Direct and oversee budgetary and financial activities for the social enterprise
  • Manage general activities associated with providing services
  • Consult with board members, executives and staff about general operations
  • Develop and submit a budget for approval and direct operations within provisions of the approved budget.
  • Provide administrative direction to the implementation of procedures for appropriate record retention.
  • Negotiate and approve agreements and      contracts.
  • Analyze performance indicators and financial statements.
  • Assist with the institutional accreditation process and accreditation processes for individual technical education programs as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
  • Maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with employees, vendors and/or any other representatives of external organizations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height.  Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to inspect work visually. Manual dexterity to operate computers and other office equipment required. Hold a current driver’s license and be able to drive. An employee must meet the physical demands described above to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Reasonable accommodation may be made.

ImagingWorks is a new career training program offered by JVS SoCal. It is an entry-level medical imaging program lasting approximately 11 weeks. ImagingWorks puts people on the path to promising medical imaging careers. In partnership with RadNet, we support ImagingWorks students at clinical sites across Southern California, where students will be able to earn a wage while learning and gaining credits towards a statewide credential. Expansion plans include the launch of ImagingWorks in Northern California, Maryland and other states, and the launch of and MRI Technologist and X-Ray Technologist training programs. (2025-2026)
