About this position

Purpose
 Act as the primary bridge between the semiconductor plant construction project and external stakeholders, with a specific focus on managing local community grievances and maintaining proactive, constructive engagement with labor unions to prevent disruptions and foster cooperation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Local Community Engagement & Grievance Handling
    • Receive, address, and resolve complaints or concerns raised by local residents regarding construction impact (noise, traffic, environmental issues).
    • Conduct regular community meetings and provide transparent project updates.
    • Develop strategies to mitigate community-related risks and enhance public perception.
  2. Labor Union Relations
    • Serve as liaison between project management and union representatives, ensuring open, respectful, and solution-oriented communication.
    • Negotiate and mediate potential disputes to prevent work stoppages or conflicts.
    • Monitor union agreements, compliance, and emerging labor issues affecting project execution.
  3. Regulatory & Stakeholder Coordination
    • Coordinate with municipal offices on permits, local regulations, and community-related requirements.
    • Maintain documentation of meetings, agreements, and grievance resolutions for compliance and audit purposes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Industrial Relations, Communications, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of local community dynamics and labor union processes.
  • Proven conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and reporting ability.

Preferred Experience

  • Former government or municipal official, or prior role in community engagement for large industrial projects.
  • Experience managing union relations within major construction or manufacturing projects.
  • Understanding of local labor laws and collective bargaining practices.
