This Role:

Our collaborative leadership team is currently seeking a VP of Supply Chain. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Grand Rapids, MI, Detroit, MI, or Huntsville, AL that would report directly to our Chief Operating Officer and will require some travel (estimated at 25% - mostly domestic but some international).

 

What You Will Do:

The Vice President of Supply Chain will develop and lead the end-to-end supply chain strategy to deliver measurable improvements across SIOP, Procurement, Materials Management, and Inventory Control to ensure the achievement of operational excellence performance both globally and regionally for the business. 

The VP of Supply chain will ensure and enable business growth by delivering benchmark service levels, optimal Inventory management, supplier quality, cost optimization, supply chain risk mitigation, and ability to scale while upholding our corporate values and regulatory requirements.  

This executive will focus on strengthening the organization’s supply chain performance through data-driven processes, cross-functional alignment, and continuous improvement.

 

How You Will Do It:

  • Analyze/assess Duravent’s current supply chain function (operational processes, purchasing and planning techniques) as well as current supply chain ecosystem (supplier cost/quality/service levels, ability to scale, overall risk, and market trends)
  • Translate the SIOP and global and regional Supply Chain management strategy into actionable process improvement initiatives, by leveraging current operational capabilities to develop operational roadmaps, infrastructure, processes, systems, technology, and organization actions combined with the appropriate change management actions to reach the team objectives.
  • Create an entrepreneurial work environment to ensure constant business process evolution, best practice development through innovation and continuous improvement initiatives focused on resolving business challenges within a strong growth environment.
  • Refine supply chain KPIs to help take its strong performance to next level and utilize broad supply chain analytics to help support decisions, enable growth, measure performance and redirect resources as required.
  • Build and lead a high-performance team, including recruiting, mentoring, and motivating strong leaders, while effectively developing the team skills to ensure achievement of business growth and KPI attainment.
  • Lead and improve Material/Inventory Management best practices including Plan for Every Part (PFEP), Make vs Buy Analysis, ABC Analysis, Purchasing Methods (PO, Blanket, etc), and Advance Replenishment Methods (MRP, Stocking Programs, VMI, Consignment, Re-Order Point and Direct Pull). 
  • Generate cost reduction improvements annually through improvements in sourcing, price, cost engineering, SKU analysis, negotiation, volume leveraging, materials substitution, master service agreements, subcontract agreements, vendor/supplier relationships and other related best of class procurement practices.
  • Develop supplier relationships with key suppliers based on strategy. Collaborates with the business to determine innovation opportunities and set supplier strategy to deliver. Collaborate with the business where appropriate on key negotiations and assist as needed for all internal company costs. 
  • Develop crisis management and supplier backup contingency programs. Work with suppliers to create a balanced scorecard to regularly evaluate both party's achievements and commitment to the relationship. 
  • Strengthen relationships with the functional counterparts and business stakeholders at both a regional and global level to foster and maintain a constant flow of transparent communication, collaboration, implementation of best practices and to deliver achievement of benchmark service and execution levels.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Current/valid U.S. work authorization without requiring future sponsorship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related fields
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience, with 5 years in Senior Manager or Director level in Strategic Sourcing, Progressive Procurement, Material management and SIOP management in a medium to large-size manufacturing environment
  • Oversite of multiple departments
  • Must have strong skills in ERP (SAP and/or Oracle preferred)
  • Experience in the HVAC, Automobile or Sheet Metal Fabrication industry 
  • Experience in managing a minimum of $150M of raw material spending.

 

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Master’s degree is preferred, and MBA is a plus.
  • APICS CSCP/CPIM or ISM CPSM is a plus.
  • Experience with implementing new processes within an ERP (SAP and/or Oracle) preferred.

  • Capability to translate technical requirements into business needs, including the development of supply chain roadmaps.
