ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide superior chairside assistance to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
  • Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
  • Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
  • Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations
  • Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
  • Assist with dental lab tasks, such as pouring impressions and trimming models
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
  • Provide support to front office staff, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records, insurance billing

Within the scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.  Must be able to work in a stressful environment. 

 


Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal equipment as required



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified from accredited dental program
  • Team member must have active RDA License and CPR Certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience Dental Assisting ( 3 year), preferred
  • Experience with Dentrix or equivalent
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Valid Class C Texas Driver License
  • License/ Certification: X-Ray Certification, preferred 
  • Experience working in a private practice setting
  • Must be registered with Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. 
  • Bilingual, (A plus)
