Dental Assistant to join our team, who is reliable, self-motivated, positive, effectively multitask, have excellent customer service and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide superior chairside assistance to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
- Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations
- Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Assist with dental lab tasks, such as pouring impressions and trimming models
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
- Provide support to front office staff, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records, insurance billing
Complexity of Work:
Within the scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal equipment as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified from accredited dental program
- Team member must have active RDA License and CPR Certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience Dental Assisting ( 3 year), preferred
- Experience with Dentrix or equivalent
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Valid Class C Texas Driver License
- License/ Certification: X-Ray Certification, preferred
- Experience working in a private practice setting
- Must be registered with Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
- Bilingual, (A plus)
