Job Summary:

The Warehouse Assistant Manager – Receiving ensures the healthy running of our warehouse receiving operations. Ensures compliance with the Department of Health, FDA, USDA, OSHA, DOT, and all other regulatory agencies and laws governing business operations. Overall responsible for compliance with CFBNJ and Feeding America's applicable guidelines resulting in satisfactory monitoring visits.

Oversees warehouse operations that involve the receipt and storage with attention to safety, cleanliness, and order. Schedules, receive, and receipts incoming food; assists with the maintenance of the warehouse and food handling equipment; ensures cleanliness and sanitation of food bank; and picks up food donations when needed. Directs, manages, supervises, evaluates, trains, and motivates warehouse receiving associates in collaboration with SR Manager of Warehouse Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Communication with Agencies and Vendors

Assist with retail gleaning program, relationships and oversee food distribution process.

Supports vendor relations, retail, equipment maintenance, donations, etc.

Assist with general vendor/agency/retail relations/operations management, when needed.

Warehouse Supervision

Ensure the warehouse receiving function operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse receiving employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.

Develop warehouse receiving operations systems by determining product handling, intake, and storage requirements, and equipment utilization.

Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality, and customer service standards are met.

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.

Meet regularly with warehouse receiving staff to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity.

Shipment and Deliveries

Negotiate shipping and supplier deliveries. 

Receive product into inventory and verify the correct goods and quantities have been delivered.

Inspect all products when received to determine fitness of product for distribution.

Sign off on bills of ladings, etc.

Keep track of paperwork and maintain paper files for audit purposes.

Weigh and log incoming donations daily and oversee the poundage tracking entered on logs weekly.

Customer Service

Resolve customer service disputes and inventory arrival complaints. 

Administration

Coordinate receiving staff scheduling and timecards. 

Help maintain warehouse receiving office calendar for incoming deliveries, pick-ups, etc., when needed.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Associates degree preferred.

Minimum 2 years of supervisor experience required.

Valid Driving license required to drive Food Bank vehicles if needed.

DOT Physical Certification (to obtain an active DOT Medical Certificate)

Valid First Aid and CPR training and certification required.

Training Certified required to train the staff in the usage of electric machinery.

Certification required to operate electrical machineries in the warehouse.

ServSafe certification preferred

Six Sigma Certification Preferred.

Preferred bilingual (English/Spanish).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
