About the Role:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining the efficient and accurate flow of goods. This position oversees the receipt, storage, and distribution of products while ensuring inventory records and documentation remain precise and up to date. Working closely with multiple departments, the clerk helps coordinate logistics to support smooth daily operations. They ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments meet company standards and regulatory requirements, reducing errors, delays, and disruptions. By maintaining organized inventory systems and accurate records, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk strengthens overall supply chain performance and enhances customer satisfaction. Their work is essential to keeping materials moving seamlessly and meeting operational targets and deadlines.Hours: 7 AM- 3:30 PM, Monday- Friday (Occasional Saturdays, as needed)Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 18+ Years Old.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software or databases.
- Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages and materials as required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift certification (preferred)
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with barcode scanners and shipping software such as UPS WorldShip or FedEx Ship Manager.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including data entry into inventory management systems.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff and other departments to manage inventory levels and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move goods within the facility.
- Communicate with carriers and vendors to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist in periodic inventory counts and audits to maintain stock accuracy.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
