Position Summary:

Responsible for retrieving prior images for patients that are scheduled for CT/PET scans and requests follow-ups. Coordinates delivery of scans with courier. Responsible for uploads/downloads to medical records database. Performs job duties and responsibilities in compliance with company policies and procedures. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Manages requests for images & reports that have not been requested/received.
  • Communicates with liaisons to follow up on subsequent requests on pending & prior images.
  • Coordinates requests with local couriers for collection of CD’s locally when necessary.
  • Responsible for uploading images received on CD and downloads di-com images that fail to cross from Powershare and import using Medicom.
  • Pull up the schedule in Tech Portal for all CT/PET scans.
  • Communicates to teams throughout the day regarding requested and pending image reports & attachments.
  • Faxes all requests through Medicom.
  • Clears Checkpoint in Medicom and pushes all images received into PACS.
  • Call to follow up on requests as needed.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of medical record keeping procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of governmental, legal and regulatory provisions related to patient records and HIPAA.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Medical terminology and ability to recognize different types of patient reports.
  • Maintains a professional, helpful, positive attitude which contributes to teamwork.
  • Ability to operate a computer and office equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and Internet.
  • Knowledge of Onco EMR, Inteleconnect, Tech Portal. Powershare and Mediccom.

Required Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in medical records.
  • Medical Oncology experience preferred.
