Job description

As a Medical Biller you will be responsible for a variety of financial and non- financial tasks to help guarantee the company’s revenues. You will be responsible for the billing and collecting of the medical services the company provides to our patients. You will be required to work on the detailed accounts receivable reports monthly to ensure the collection of payment in a timely manner from our various payer’s as well as our patient’s. The responsible candidate will manage their assigned accounts and assist with providing solutions to any relative problems of patients and or payer’s.

The position requires that you communicate effectively with team members to solidify a cohesive and productive work environment.

Work Environment:

• Primarily office work. Occasional travel for educational purposes
• Overtime may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1-2 years customer service and medical billing experience
• Proficient computer skills
• Highly organized with the ability to pay attention to detail.
• Solution orientated.
• Ability to actively listen.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent prioritizing and time management skills
• Comfortable to working in a high volume, fast paced environment.
• Self-directed, but also able to work in a team environment.
• Math aptitude
• Knowledge or MS Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Related health care experience with a focus on billing and collections; insurance reimbursement
• Understanding/Knowledge of HCPC codes; insurance guidelines; ICD-10
• Knowledge of NYS Medicaid; Medicare Part B and third-party payers.
