Wise Path Recovery Center, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services (ARS), is expanding access to high-quality, person-centered substance use disorder treatment with a new private, retreat-style facility located just outside Morgantown, West Virginia, opening in late Spring/Summer 2026.
Surrounded by natural landscape and intentionally removed from the noise and pressure of daily life, this tranquil setting is designed to support focus, stability, and long-term recovery. The environment allows individuals to step away, reset, and engage fully in evidence-based care within a calm, structured, and supportive setting.
We are seeking a Senior Business Development Representative to lead early market development, referral strategy, and community relationship-building in the Pittsburgh, PA market well ahead of opening.
This is a foundational, senior-level role designed for a healthcare business development professional who understands how to build trust, create referral momentum, and establish credibility long before doors open.
You won’t be selling beds.
You’ll be building relationships, reputation, and long-term referral partnerships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Market & Referral Development
Develop and execute a pre-opening business development strategy for the Washington, DC market.
Build early relationships with hospitals, detox providers, behavioral health organizations, social services, probation/parole, employers, and community partners.
Establish Wise Path Recovery Center as a trusted, credible referral partner prior to facility opening.
Sales & Growth Strategy
Create and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual territory plans aligned with projected admissions and revenue goals.
Identify referral trends, service gaps, and growth opportunities within the DC market.
Maintain accurate pipelines, contact tracking, and reporting in CRM systems.
Education & Outreach
Educate referral partners on Wise Path’s programs, levels of care, admission criteria, and clinical capabilities.
Communicate the value of a private, retreat-style treatment environment for individuals who benefit from distance, discretion, and focused care.
Stay current on industry changes, payer dynamics (including Medicaid and commercial), and regulatory considerations impacting referrals.
Provide admissions teams with ongoing market intelligence and referral feedback.
Relationship Management
Serve as the primary external ambassador for Wise Path Recovery Center in the Washington, DC region.
Deliver elite referral partner service through responsiveness, follow-through, and integrity.
Represent the organization at community events, professional meetings, and industry conferences.
Collaboration & Internal Alignment
Partner with clinical leadership, admissions, and operations to ensure referral alignment and launch readiness.
Provide leadership with regular market updates, insights, and executive-level summaries.
Participate in pre-opening planning and go-live readiness efforts.
Performance & Reporting
Track KPIs, referral performance, and territory metrics.
Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and adjust strategy.
Prepare executive-level market reports and presentations for ARS leadership.
Advocacy & Mission Alignment
Advocate for addiction awareness, stigma reduction, and access to evidence-based care.
Represent Wise Path Recovery Center with professionalism, empathy, and integrity in all community interactions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, or related field required.
3–5+ years of successful business development experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment.
Demonstrated ability to build and manage referral networks within a defined territory.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strategic, self-directed, and comfortable operating independently in the field.
Valid driver’s license with ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.
Work Conditions
Field-based role supporting the Pittsburgh, PA market.
Flexible schedule with regular daytime travel; occasional evenings for community events.
Periodic travel to the Morgantown, WV retreat facility and ARS meetings as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
The base compensation range for this position is $100,000 – $120,000. This range reflects Ascension Recovery Services’ good-faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, territory scope, and internal equity. Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
