About this position

Description:

 The President of Imperium Utility Services (IUS) will provide executive leadership, strategic vision,

and operational oversight for all aspects of the business. The President will ensure that IUS

delivers safe, reliable, and high-quality utility contracting services including overseeing all

Transmission and Distribution OH & UG, achieves financial performance targets, maintains strong

customer relationships, and fosters a culture of safety, transparency, and employee development.


 Responsibilities: 


Strategic Leadership & Governance 

  •  Develop, implement, and execute short- and long-term business strategies that align with Imperium Utility Services overall objectives.
  • Represent IUS in Board meetings and provide transparent, data-driven updates on operations, performance, and risks.
  • Position IUS for growth through market development, innovation, and strategic partnerships

Operations & Performance Management:

  • Develop, implement, and execute short- and long-term business strategies that align with Imperium Utility Services overall objectives.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management:

  • Ensure all operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Champion a culture of safety and accountability, ensuring alignment with the company’s safety guidelines.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate operational and financial risks.

Financial Oversight:

  • Approve budgets, contracts, capital expenditures, and major operational decisions.
  • Partner with the company’s executive team on financial planning, reporting, and investor relations.
  • Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and rate/term approvals to ensure profitability and competitiveness.

 Business Development & External Relations:

  • Approve and guide marketing, advertising, and business development strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with utility and industry executives, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor trends, emerging technologies, and market conditions to ensure IUS remains competitive and forward-looking.


People & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the IUS executive team and workforce, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth.
  • Ensure clear policies, procedures, and communications that support operational excellence.
  • Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee engagement throughout the organization.
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience in progressive leadership roles
  • Proven executive leadership experience in the contracting, utility services, or energy industry.
  • Proven experience leading or overseeing contractor operations, specifically in a “blue sky” setting.
  • Deep understanding of compliance requirements, safety standards, and utility operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop policies, lead complex projects, and manage large cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of P&L and KPI accountability
  • Proven ability to grow and scale a team, organization, or company

 

Physical Requirements & Availability

  • Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers and members of the public, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility and presence on-site.
  • A minimum of 40 hours/week may be required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position, including presence at designated internal and external meetings. This position may also require availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the evenings and/or during weekends.
  • The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. This position works primarily in the field and is exposed to all types of weather conditions including temperature extremes and rainy environments. Outdoor setting involves all types of property and site conditions, including open spaces, timberlands, urban developments, flat and hilly terrain, building construction sites and road rights-of-way. Subject to outside weather/driving conditions.
