Description:
Sapulpa Nursing Center is seeking an experienced Dietary Aide / Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate has prior long-term care or institutional food service experience and demonstrates strong knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety regulations, and scratch meal preparation. This position plays a key role in ensuring our residents receive nutritious, appetizing meals prepared in accordance with physician orders and regulatory guidelines. This role may also assist with housekeeping duties as needed to support overall facility operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and approved recipes
- Ensure compliance with therapeutic diet orders (mechanical soft, pureed, diabetic, low sodium, etc.)
- Review tray tickets and ensure accuracy of meal service
- Supervise and assist dietary aides as needed during meal service
- Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including sanitation and infection control standards
- Properly store food and supplies according to food safety guidelines
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
- Participate in inspections and ensure readiness for survey
- Assist with housekeeping duties as needed, including cleaning common areas, resident rooms, dining spaces, and maintaining overall facility cleanliness standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in long-term care, nursing home, or healthcare food service required
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture modifications required
- Food Handler’s Permit (or ability to obtain)
- Understanding of housekeeping and sanitation standards preferred
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Must pass background check and drug screening
