Role Overview

This is a hands-on Corporate Controller role for someone who wants to build financial operations properly from the start and grow into a senior executive finance position over time.

In the initial phase, you will focus on establishing structure, discipline, and clarity across global accounting and finance operations. As the company scales, this role is expected to evolve into a VP or SVP Finance position, with responsibility for a broader finance organization including FP&A.

You will act as the senior finance leader for the company, reporting directly to executive leadership.

What You’ll Be Building First

During the first phase of this role, success is defined by:

  • Creating reliable, repeatable month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Establishing global accounting standards across Canada, the US, and the UK
  • Strengthening NetSuite configuration, controls, and reporting
  • Designing transfer pricing and intercompany processes that scale
  • Laying the foundation for a future finance team, including FP&A

Key Responsibilities

Global Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Own accounting and finance operations across Canada, the US, and the UK
  • Maintain hands-on ownership of US and Canadian accounting
  • Coordinate UK accounting and statutory requirements through external partners
  • Ensure consistency in policies, controls, and reporting across entities

Close, Reporting & Controls

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Deliver accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements
  • Prepare consolidated reporting for leadership and the board
  • Implement financial policies and internal controls

SaaS Accounting & Systems

  • Own NetSuite as the company’s financial system of record
  • Ensure accurate SaaS revenue recognition and contract accounting
  • Improve automation, data quality, and reporting reliability

Transfer Pricing, Tax & Audit

  • Design and maintain transfer pricing policies across entities
  • Oversee inter-company billing and documentation
  • Manage tax compliance in the US and Canada
  • Coordinate UK tax matters with external advisors
  • Lead annual audits and manage external auditor relationships

Team Building & FP&A (Current and Future)

  • Initially own budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Design the structure for a future finance team
  • Hire and lead accounting and FP&A resources as the company scales
  • Develop clear ownership and accountability across finance functions

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
  • Experience in a SaaS environment (required)
  • Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite (required)
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP and multi-entity accounting
  • Experience managing US and Canadian entities directly
  • Comfort working with external partners for UK accounting
  • Experience with audits, taxation, and intercompany structures
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent professional designation strongly preferred

Compensation 

  • Base Salary: CAD $130,000 – $165,000
  • Bonus: Performance-based annual bonus based on company performance
  • Equity: Meaningful equity participation aligned with long-term growth and Stock Option plan

Compensation will be aligned with experience and the growth trajectory into a senior executive role.

Title and scope will scale with the company.
