Summary: Educational Child Care Center (EC3) is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated GSRP Lead Teacher to create and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children within our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP). The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with GSRP guidelines, foster a nurturing learning environment, and play a crucial role in preparing children for success in kindergarten and beyond through high-quality early childhood education practices. This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a developmentally appropriate, research-based curriculum that supports the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of preschool children enrolled in the GSRP.
  • Classroom Management: Supervise and manage classroom activities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct child observations and assessments using GSRP-approved tools, maintaining accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Family Engagement: Establish and maintain ongoing communication with families, including conducting home visits and parent-teacher conferences to support children's educational needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with associate teachers and support staff to create meaningful learning experiences and achieve program quality goals.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Michigan Department of Education (MDE) GSRP requirements and licensing regulations.
  • Professional Development: Participate in required professional development and training as mandated by the program and MDE.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or a related field with a valid Michigan teaching certificate and a ZS (Early Childhood) or ZA (Early Childhood General and Special Education) endorsement.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience working with preschool-aged children, particularly in a GSRP or similar early childhood education setting.
  • Certifications: Current CPR/First Aid certification. CPR/First Aid training will be provided if needed. Successful completion of background checks.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
