Position Summary
The Armed Security Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Armed Security Officers in protecting personnel, visitors, and federal assets. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role ensures compliance with site-specific procedures, federal regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
· Conduct patrols of federal premises to deter unauthorized access and detect suspicious activity
· Monitor entry/exit points, verify credentials, and enforce access control procedures
· Respond to alarms, investigate disturbances, and contact emergency services as needed
· Operate metal detectors and screening devices to prevent unauthorized items from entering the facility
· Write detailed reports on incidents, safety violations, and daily activities
· Supervise and schedule Armed Security Officers, adjusting coverage as necessary
· Support administrative tasks such as timekeeping, personnel records, and discipline under the Project Manager’s direction
· Assist with de-escalation of conflicts and enforcement of facility rules
· Maintain a professional, tactful, and composed demeanor under pressure
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Captain
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
· U.S. Citizen
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in armed security or law enforcement, OR 3 years of military service with an honorable discharge, OR a combination of both
· Must possess a current OPOTA 20-hour private security certificate.
· Must be able to pass Physical/Drug Screening
· Must be able to pass a Physical Fitness (PAT) test.
· Must successfully pass a background investigation.
· Must have a High school Diploma/ or Equivalent
· Must be able to read, write, and speak English
· Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in field supervision (civilian community law enforcement, military, or commercial/industrial security services)
· Minimum of Three (3) years of successful experience with computer software such as Microsoft Office.
Pay Rate
· $36.89 per hour
· Health & Welfare benefit at standard current rate: $5.15
