Title: Personal Trainer
Reports To: Fitness Director
Wage: $18.00-$25.00 hourly
Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Personal Trainers will provide individual and group training as requested and scheduled for Neal Fitness Center members.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide 30 minute and 1 hour training sessions in compliance with current fitness standards
Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of member
Excellent knowledge of how to use gym equipment properly to train clients
Vast knowledge of different protocols for training regimens
The ability to manage varying schedules and needs of clients
Strong Knowledge cardiac disease and medications
Program Development and Implementation
Establish and maintain, in partnership with the Fitness Director personal training program goals and key performance indicators
Develop and implement individualized personal training programs
Monitor clients progress and establish and track SMART goals
Participate in the evaluation of personal training services and provide feedback to leadership

Supervision
Perform proper and timely record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, notable achievements and any problems/issues.
Additional Responsibilities
May support special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other Club activities as necessary.
Consult with the Fitness Director on any member issues or concerns
Relationships
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with members service staff and fitness director, Club members, community members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and advise/counsel.
Team oriented positive attitude and demeanor is required in the workplace at all times
External: Maintain positive relationships with community members, partner organizations, clients, and contracted services, as needed.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED.
6 months; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.
NCAA Personal training certification required, ACSM, ACE, ASFA, preferred
First Aid and CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and internet applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to squat or bend to communicate at youths’ level.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds for short periods of time.
Must be willing and able to actively participate in regular in-service training and maintain minimum fitness levels required to perform duties.
