Paratransit, Inc. is currently seeking applications for full-time Bus Mechanics to perform maintenance and repair work on buses, vehicles, and other equipment as assigned. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with occasional shifts starting as early as 5:30 AM for training or as needed. Minimum Qualifications:
Valid California Class C Driver’s License, with a clean driving recordMust be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement upon hireASE Certification is preferred but not requiredTools and equipment of the mechanic trade providedMust be reliable and responsibleAbility to learn the operation and repair characteristics of buses, trucks, vans, automobiles, and other equipmentKnowledge of gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel engines is a plusFamiliarity with mechanic tools, materials, and practicesMust pass a drug test (including marijuana)Mechanic A (Highly Skilled Level):
ASE Certification or successful completion of related field certification required, plus 5 years of work experience and welding experiencePerforms skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair of buses, vehicles, and other equipmentWorks with minimal supervision, ensuring timely and efficient repairsProvides oversight and guidance to other mechanics as assignedRequires advanced technical skills and journey-level tasksExpereince with bus lifts a plusMechanic B (Mid-Level):
ASE Certification or successful completion of related field certification required, plus 5 years of work experiencePerforms skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on buses, vehicles, and other equipmentWorks under direct supervision, handling basic mechanical tasks and assisting in more complex repairsResponsible for assisting higher-level mechanics and relieving them of routine maintenance tasksMechanic C (Entry-Level):
ASE Certification or successful completion of related field certification required, or 1-2 years of work experiencePerforms routine preventive maintenance and basic repair work on buses, vehicles, and other equipmentWorks under close supervision, assisting with inspections and repairsResponsible for preventive maintenance tasks and supporting more complex maintenance activitiesSalary and Benefits:
