Role Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a strategic finance partner within a fast-paced, competitive CPG environment. This role provides in‑depth financial insights, forecasting, and decision support to the CFO and CEO as well as direct analytical support for the SVP of Marketing. The Senior Financial Analyst will create, maintain, and interpret reports that empower the functions of the business to make real-time, data-driven decisions that move the business forward, and oftentimes, will be the person who recommends the best course of action themselves. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven storyteller who thrives in a changing, collaborative environment and is passionate about using analytics to fuel innovation and business growth.

 

Essential Duties + Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis - Overall:

  • Participates in enterprise projects and cross-functional teams, providing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) support and helping team members understand the financial impact of decisions.
  • Works with the CFO and Director – Financial Systems, Reporting & Data to develop, manage and execute the financial planning & forecasting processes which includes the 5-year Strategic Plan, Annual Plan, and quarterly forecasts.   
  • Manages monthly and annual business metrics/Board KPIs/Scorecards.
  • Interprets financial results and identifies opportunities and/or contingency plans.
  • Assists with preparation of Board / Mgmt reporting package, provides analysis of variance, and identifies key drivers/insights.
  • Proactively identifies trends and topics impacting the business, formulates insights, and provides feedback to the CFO and any other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support various ad hoc projects, as identified by the CFO or CEO.

 

Financial Planning and Analysis – Marketing and eCommerce:

  • Lead revenue forecasting and analysis across all eCommerce channels, driving data-based performance benchmarks and growth initiatives.
  • Develop a SKU-level revenue forecasting tool and monthly forecasts for Amazon, improving accuracy and enabling targeted inventory planning and marketing prioritization.
  • Project and track marketing expenses for new product families, strategic focus items, and core business ensuring optimal allocation and ROI.
  • Track and analyze key marketing KPIs, providing stakeholders with performance dashboards and decision-making insights across campaigns and platforms.
  • Monitor and report on competitive activity including pricing, ad spend, product launches, and marketing initiatives; utilize findings to develop strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Monitor and report on price matching activity and listing suppressions across marketplaces; identify root causes and assess potential business impact.

 

Competencies:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, data analytics, business, or a related area

 

Work Experience: 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in consumer products or retail.

  • Strong financial curiosity with a willingness to ask challenging questions, identify and explore adverse trends, and to provide strategic insights to Executive leadership.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple projects in tandem; strength in execution.
  • Verified experience operating in a fast-paced business experience with demonstrated effectiveness in a small company/location.

The work environment for this position includes a combination of office/home office and field/market settings.   The incumbent must follow company safety procedures.
