About this position
The Financial Crimes Quality Assurance Consultant is responsible for performing and assisting in the creation of quality assurance of BSA/AML/Fraud processes. This role will assist in developing and executing a risk-based Quality Assurance (QA) program focused on the review of the design, effectiveness, and overall quality of the Choice Bank Financial Crimes Compliance program as it relates to applicable regulations and adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and processes. Prepare reports on review findings, recommended enhancements, and the status of corrective actions.
- Assist in the development of the Financial Crime Quality Assurance program and associated testing and reporting activities.
- Ensure key and emerging Financial Crime risks and controls are accurately implemented across the Bank.
- Ability to maintain control, direction, and motivation in an ever-changing environment
- Conduct quality reviews of financial crimes investigations, including AML, fraud, sanctions, and suspicious activity reports (SARs), to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Perform quality assurance reviews on a scheduled cadence and additional ad hoc testing as needed.
- Evaluate the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of case documentation and decisions.
- Identify gaps or deficiencies in investigative processes and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of controls related to financial crimes detection and prevention.
- Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to ensure alignment with enterprise risk management frameworks.
- Escalate significant findings or trends to appropriate stakeholders for remediation.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing QA findings, trends, and recommendations for process improvements.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and compliance.
- Support regulatory and internal audit requests by providing QA documentation and insights.
- Provide feedback and coaching to investigators and analysts based on QA results.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training materials to improve investigative quality and consistency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on financial crimes compliance and QA best practices.
- Partner with operational teams to enhance investigation workflows and case management systems.
- Contributes input to creating technology-based tools and metrics to create effective and efficient reporting of Fintech risks, with the goal of minimizing risk exposure.
- Assist the Financial Crime team in identifying compliance gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in initiatives to automate and streamline QA processes.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of QA methodologies and scoring criteria.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Compliance, Legal, Audit, and Operations to ensure cohesive quality standards.
- Communicate QA outcomes and improvement strategies effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Support strategic initiatives related to financial crimes risk mitigation.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a financial crimes/anti-money laundering group.
- 2+ years of experience in the execution of quality assurance/control testing processes associated with financial crime controls
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively to drive efficient resolution of decisions and tasks, escalate items requiring attention, and proactive approach at problem solving and continuous improvement
- Effective communication skills—both verbal and written
- Perform quality assurance reviews on a scheduled cadence and additional ad hoc testing as needed for a minimum of two processes.
- Understanding of regulatory expectations within financial industry and ability to demonstrate compliance and risk-based decisions
- CAMS (Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist) certification or pursing certification preferred
- Familiarity with BSA/AML regulations and basic risk concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured testing protocols.
Travel Requirement
This position requires travel to support business needs, including team collaboration, internal trainings, and cross-functional initiatives. The frequency and duration of travel will vary based on organizational priorities and team needs.

The base salary for this role is listed below. This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws.
