POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The LCPC or LCSW provides professional mental health services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapy for individuals, families, or groups. The clinician collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and support patients in achieving their emotional and psychological wellness goals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based practices
  • Use developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions with younger clients
  • Collaborate with clinical mental health and physical health providers and staff to provide comprehensive care for clients
  • Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and other community professionals as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards
  • Respond to crisis situations, conduct risk assessments, and develop safety plans as needed
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources
  • Facilitate discharge planning, referrals, and coordination with community services or agencies
  • Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and continuing education/training
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong clinical judgment and ethical decision-making
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse individuals and populations
  • Knowledge of mental health diagnoses (DSM-5), treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently or as part of a team

Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements: Requirements are representative of the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Education: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field
  • Licensure/Certification: Current and active state licensure as an LCPC or LCSW 
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in clinical counseling, social work, or mental health preferred
