About this position

BASIC FUNCTION: 

Sells previously owned or leased vehicles to retail and commercial customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Greets andassistscustomers in selecting vehicle that meets their needs and financial ability
  • Presentsthe vehicle’s features and benefitsto Customers
  •  Arrangesand preparesvehiclefortest drive
  • Gathers information needed to structure the vehicle purchase dealand informs sales management of thequalifying information
  • If there is a “trade-in” vehicle, performs a pre-evaluation of the customer’svehicle todetermineapproximate value
  • Writes up and presents a written proposaland completes all other necessary documents.
  • Introduces customer to Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager to arrange financing andfinalizethenecessary paperwork
  • Reviewsvehiclecheck list, transaction documents,warrantyand customer survey program prior to thecustomer leaving the store
  • Conducts vehicle delivery, reviewing vehicle features and accessories
  • Introduces customer to service and parts departments
  • Provides assistance tocustomer in the resolution of any post purchase concerns or problems
  • Maintains customer contact recordsin sales softwareand performs regular follow-up activities
  • Sources new customers through “cold calling,” use of mailing lists, directories, etc.
  • Maintainscompany provided demonstrator in a sale-ready condition
  • Recording sales activitiesin sales software

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Low physical effort required to sit for extended periods, stand at files, bend, stoop, lift, and walk. Maximum unassisted lift = 20lbs. Average lift less than 5lbs. Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor, and phone. Requires ability to communicate both orally and in writing, hear at a conversational level, use both hands and legs, operate a motor vehicle and the ability to see using both depth perception and color visions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Inside average office environment. Average office noise levels. No personal protective equipment required. Ambient temperature between 68 and 76F. Exposed to outside weather

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum education, experience, skills and physical abilities needed to perform job.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preference for one ormore years ofvehicle sales experience
  • Experience with knowledge of a variety of vehicles features and benefits preferred or ability toacquirethe knowledge
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal,negotiation,and closing skills. 
  • Interact effectively with a variety of people and personalities.
