Job Summary

 The Quality Supervisor serves as the lead person responsible for the quality assurance and  quality control activities associated with control plans, inspection, release, and control of  nonconformance of The Gund Company products.  The role supports implementation and  improvement of the quality management system (QMS) and quality control processes at an  individual manufacturing site within a global multi-site QMS.   Team members work closely  with the Plant Manager, Value Stream Manager(s), Process Engineers, Sales, Business  Development, and other functions to comply with customer specific requirements and applicable  quality management systems.  

Essential Job Functions

• Process execution accountability of quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and  continuous improvement (CI) process at assigned site.   

• Collaborate with assigned facility, functional, and Quality team members in the  implementation, execution, and improvement of all QA, QC, and CI processes.  

• Drive improvement and customer focuses responsiveness to quality issues for assigned site.   

• Collaborate with peer Quality Specialist on systemic quality and process improvement  development and implementation.   

• Other duties as assigned.

This position does have supervisory responsibilities.   


Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong computer skills especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.  
  • Prior experience with data entry and report analysis in an Enterprise Resource Planning  (ERP) system.  
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and select appropriate inspection  methodology.  
  • Ability to develop statistical process control and data analysis methods.  
  • Strong math skills related to reading and converting technical drawings.  
  • Project management skills.   
  • Ability to communicate expectations and instructions to all levels of the organization.  
  • Ability to identify root causes, develop creative solutions to problems and continuously  improve systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and statistical process control.   

Education & Experience

  •  Experience leading, supervising, and developing teams.  
  • 5-10 years of experience as a quality-minded individual contributor or leader in an  ISO9001 or aviation/space/defense (AS9100) environment,   
  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • American Society for Quality Certifications desired, but not required: Certified Quality  Engineer, Certified Quality Control Technician, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified  Quality Inspector, or Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.  

Travel

Travel may be required up to 20% of time.
