About this position
The Sourcing, Purchasing & Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, goods, and services while maintaining production schedules and inventory levels. This role plays a vital part in supplier relations, purchasing operations, and coordinating production and delivery timelines. The coordinator works closely with cross-functional teams to align purchasing activities with production schedules and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors and suppliers.
- Issue and track purchase orders; ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Coordinate and maintain production and delivery schedules to meet internal demand and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with production, inventory, and logistics teams to align procurement and scheduling efforts.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast material requirements to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Adjust schedules and orders as needed in response to changes in demand, delays, or supply chain disruptions.
- Track supplier performance metrics (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness).
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery dates, inventory levels, and supplier communications.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and applicable regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in sourcing, purchasing, and scheduling processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, scheduling, or supply chain coordination.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with production or delivery scheduling tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Pest Control.
- Experience with MRP/ERP scheduling modules.
- Supply chain certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM, CIPS, CPSM).
- Familiarity with lean or just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing principles.
