Estimator

Overview

Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, material, and labor estimates involved in assigned products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes. 

Functions

1. Provided preliminary estimates for planning purposes and detailed itemized estimates based on final plans and specifications. 
2. Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and develops itemized lists.
3. Prepares written proposals to customers.
4. Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
5. Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
6. Revises estimates as requested.
7. May be assigned other duties as necessary.
