About The Role
Hi, I'm Dave, Head of Finance, at Loop and I am hiring an ambitious Finance Manager to manage our day to day financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting processes. This role will own accounting and reporting across our group entities, interact with the Operations team for the accounting, reconciliation and safeguarding of customer funds across the Loop product, and assist in the ongoing strategic finance support of the business. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and have a deep understanding of fintech operations.
This role is an onsite position at our downtown Toronto office (Bay and Bloor).
Where You Come In
The Finance Manager will have exposure to a variety of finance, accounting, reporting and strategic functions as well as supporting Loop’s compliance and internal audit needs. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and assisting compliance with regulatory requirements, including safeguarding of customer funds.
You will play a key role in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, and will have the opportunity to get involved in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting within a financial services environment, excellent analytical skills, and comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Accounting Management
Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day accounting function, including all general ledgers, accounts payable and accounts receivableAssist the Head of Finance in ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial accounting for consolidated and standalone operating and regulated entitiesConduct complete, accurate and timely accounting, reporting and analysisAssist in the management of Financial and KPI reporting requirements for investors, key stakeholders, and company managementTreasury
Ensure ongoing compliance with Loop’s daily requirement to safeguard customer fundsWork with Operations team to ensure daily reconciliation is undertaken and ensure accurate accounting of customer funds flows.Financial Reporting
Support the Head of Finance in the external audit process with the provision of necessary data and reporting, and assisting in with the resolution of audit findingsCoordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit findings as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.Help maintain and improve internal cross-functional management reporting requirementsSupport the internal risk and compliance functions to ensure Loop is meeting its regulatory responsibilitiesMonitor performance against budgets, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights to other internal teams.Provide Additional Cross-Functional Support
Help with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, financial models and scenario analysis for the finance team and other teams at LoopProvide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to drive business performance.What We're Looking For
CPA designation or equivalent3+ years of progressive accounting experienceProficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.Basic knowledge of SQL for writing data queriesStrong financial acumen, problem-solving and analytical skillsImpeccable accuracy with numbers and high attention to detail Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft ExcelYou are a strong communicator and can effectively convey financial concepts and information to othersYou are a self-starter and can work without supervisionYou are comfortable working through ambiguous situations and managing multiple prioritiesIt’s a bonus if you have
