About this position


The Business Development Professional (BDP) will focus on generating new Title & Escrow business by reaching out to potential new customers as identified by their county manager. New customers are defined as any customer who has business to send who has not engaged with us in the previous six months. This role involves building relationships with key stakeholders who can drive new business opportunities. The Business Development Professional will actively promote our products and services to a diverse audience, including real estate professionals, lenders, builders, developers, and consumers (buyers & sellers).

In collaboration with the County Manager, the BDP develops and executes a comprehensive Business Development Plan (BDP), aligning with the company's strategic goals. The BDP operates within budgetary constraints and is accountable for achieving sales targets.

The BDP actively participates in sales and marketing initiatives, demonstrating strong independent judgment and decision-making skills. Close collaboration with the Corporate Director of Business Development is essential for optimal performance.

This position reports to the Vice President / County Manager.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

  • Actively prospect for new customers by calling on identified non-directing agents on current escrow orders in process, follow up calls, post-closing calls and other outreach methods as directed by the county manager
  • Conduct sales presentations, seminars, real estate presentations, marketing events and other sales and marketing efforts to potential and existing clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the target market(s).
  • Identify and pursue cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team, local offices, and other BDP’s to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns.

Market Analysis and Strategy

  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales goals.
  • Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies accordingly.

Administrative Tasks

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline data.
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Education and Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or business development
  • Previous experience in the title and escrow industry is a plus
  • Notary or ability to obtain within 90 days of starting the position
  • Montana Producers License or ability to obtain within 90 days of starting (MT only)

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent travel within the assigned territory and occasionally outside
  • In-person and phone communication required
