<div style="text-align: left;">The <strong id="isPasted">Facilites&nbsp;</strong>Maintenance Worker I serves an integral role within the Public Works Department. Under general supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for performing day-to-day tasks necessary to maintain the City's facilities. These duties will include a wide variety of maintenance and custodial tasks.</div><br>The <strong id="isPasted">Grounds&nbsp;</strong>Maintenance Worker I serves an integral role within the Public Works Department. Under general supervision, performs a variety of landscaping and ground maintenance tasks on City property and roadways as assigned. Maintains the grounds, medians and right- of-ways of various sites and public compounds, removes weeds, trim trees, prune plants and hedges and applies pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer. Cuts grass with a riding lawn mower and trims with a weed eater, clears medians, swales, streets, sidewalks and gutters using brooms, rakes and blowers. Removes trash, debris and other items (such as shopping carts). Install and repair sprinkler systems. &nbsp;Opens and closes gates at appropriate times. &nbsp; Removes fallen and dead trees and plant material from City streets and grounds. Repair City fountains. Performs manual labor for departmental and citywide special events, to include general cleanup before, during and after events.

<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>One year of experience working with grounds maintenance/landscaping or one year of experience working with hand tools and light equipment such as pressure cleaners, drills, buffing machines, etc.   </li><li>Must possess knowledge of safety procedures and occupational hazards. </li><li>Must be able to perform manual labor, follow instructions and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.   </li><li>Must be able to operate and maintain equipment and safely apply chemicals. </li><li>Must have a valid Florida Driver's License. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.</li></ul>
The base hours for this position are 7am-4pm Monday-Friday. However, the successful candidate must be flexible and have the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on the operational needs of the Department.<br><br>In order to be considered for the position, all candidates are required to complete and submit the required employment application and supplemental questionnaire.
