Commercial Loan Officer

ACNB BANK Mt. Airy, Maryland, United States Accounting/Finance

About this position

Commercial Loan Officer

Locations: Hunt Valley, Carroll County, Frederick County, MD

Where Experienced Commercial Lenders Build Lasting Client Relationships.

For more than 167 years, ACNB Bank has been a locally rooted, relationship-driven community bank—and we’re still growing. We don’t chase transactions. We build partnerships that help local businesses thrive.

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Loan Officer who wants more than a book of loans—someone who wants ownership of relationships, influence in the market, and a long-term career with a bank that genuinely values community banking done right.

If you’re a commercial lender who enjoys calling on businesses, structuring smart credit solutions, and being known as a trusted advisor—not just a salesperson—this could be a defining next step in your career.

The Opportunity (What You’ll Accomplish)

In this role, you’ll be trusted to build, grow, and manage a profitable commercial loan portfolio within our Hunt Valley, Frederick and/or Carroll County markets while deepening relationships across the bank.

Within your first 12–24 months, success looks like:

  • Developing and managing a strong portfolio of commercial relationships that consistently meets or exceeds loan and fee income goals.
  • Becoming a recognized relationship lender in the local business community through proactive calling, referrals, and community involvement.
  • Serving as the primary financial partner for your clients—identifying credit needs and introducing Treasury Management, Insurance, Wealth Management, and Mortgage solutions.
  • Structuring and recommending sound credit requests by analyzing financial statements, cash flow, and risk.
  • Exercising lending authority confidently and responsibly within bank policy.
  • Collaborating with internal partners to deliver seamless, high-touch service to commercial customers.

What Sets You Up for Success

You’re likely to be successful here if you bring:

  • 5+ years of commercial lending experience, including portfolio management and new business development.
  • A proven ability to win, retain, and grow commercial relationships through consultative selling.
  • Strong credit fundamentals, including experience analyzing financial statements and loan structures.
  • Working knowledge of commercial lending policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Confidence making recommendations and decisions using sound judgment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you’re comfortable in boardrooms and community meetings alike.
  • Active involvement (or a desire to be involved) in local civic and community organizations.
  • Comfort with standard banking technology and Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • ACNB is a well-established community bank with deep local credibility and decision-making close to the market.
  • The autonomy to manage your portfolio like a business—without unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Competitive incentive plan tied to performance. This position typically pays $100,000 - 140,000 annual base salary, but may be higher based on previous experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with up to 4% employer match.
  • Generous PTO plus 12 paid bank holidays.
  • Ongoing professional development and long-term career growth opportunities.

If you’re ready to build meaningful commercial relationships, grow your career, and make a visible impact in Northern Maryland—we should talk.
