About this position
The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for providing professional aircraft maintenance and repairs while maintaining all appropriate safety and regulatory standards. This position also provides ground support at the Lexington, KY Bluegrass Airport hangar and terminal. Candidate must be a licensed A&P.
Requirements
• Receive aircraft maintenance and repair requests
• Inspect, diagnose and assess the feasibility of maintenance and repair issues
• Prepare estimates for maintenance/repairs
• Schedule and perform maintenance/repairs and conduct/observe tests and system checks
• Communicate with pilots and vendors for the purpose of exchanging technical information
• Maintain logbooks and other records to provide required documentation of work
• Work with Maintenance Manager to establish appropriate lead times for maintenance/repairs
• Approve and return aircraft to service after maintenance/repairs
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of parts, tools and service equipment
• Maintain current service manuals, service bulletins, A/D lists, wiring diagrams, etc.
• Maintain ground support equipment
• Other duties as assigned include, but are not limited to:
• Pulling aircraft in and out of the hangar
• Database updates
• Parts management and inventory
• Cleaning hangar, facility, hangar office
• Ensuring that aircraft are trip ready
• Snow removal and/or mowing as needed
• Cleaning aircraft exterior
