REPORTS TO:  Maintenance Supervisors 

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance 

PAY RATE: $22.25 - $27.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining, erecting, repairing, reporting, documenting and troubleshooting of Twister III wood roller coaster as well as other rides and attractions to insure their safe operation. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 Maintain, erect, repair and trouble shoot rides and attractions (in accordance with ASTM standards, as evaluated by maintenance manager or supervisor) to ensure their safe and efficient operation. 

Solid working knowledge and experience in mechanics, gear reduction, pneumatics, and hydraulics, some minor electrical experience. 

Must be able to trouble shoot clearly, calmly and safely in the presence of guests and co-workers. 

Ensure the rides are clean and visually and mechanically in compliance with ASTM standards, manufacturer’s specifications, and Elitch Gardens requirements. 

 Ensure state regulations and third party inspections are complied with and documented. 

Inspect rides and attractions and notify management of any hazards that may endanger the guests or staff members. 

Must be able to read, understand and implement maintenance and inspection procedures. 

 Keep all work areas clean, safe and professional 

 Maintain ride parts inventory and notify supervisor/manager of any parts or materials necessary to insure the safe continuous operation of rides and attractions. 

 Work in conjunction with other staff members and outside contractors in trouble shooting and solving ride related issues. 

Respond to any emergency in the area and maintain control until management arrives 

 Operate within the policies and procedures of Elitch Gardens 

Attendance must be in accordance with company policies 

Perform a wide variety of duties as needed by management 

 Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public. 

Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments. 

 Must be able to identify fastener grades and dimensions. 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Must have basic knowledge and experience of mechanics, gear reduction, pneumatics, hydraulics and some minor electrical skills 

Must be able to read, understand, document and implement maintenance and inspection procedures 

Must have a valid driver’s license, High school diploma or GED 

Post education or certified skill/apprenticeship programs preferred 

Must be able to work alone and unsupervised at times. 

May be required to work in various weather conditions.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, pick up and reach with arms.

The employee must be able to lift and move up to 80 pounds without injury. 

The employee must be able to work at heights up to 200 feet above grade. 

The employee must be able to distinguish color. 

The employee must have specific vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus (if needed, corrective lenses must be worn while on duty). 

Posse’s normal or average corrected hearing. (Defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency range 500 Hz-400Hz considered normal speech frequency range).  If a corrected device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on duty.
