POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cash Application Specialist position will participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily processing and application of customer payments
Receive, record and deposit cash, checks and vouchers
Verify signatures and required information on checks
Maintain financial or account records
Code documents according to company procedures
Verify accuracy of billing data and notify billing and rating support team of discrepancies
Research issues related to unidentified payments
Process adjustments related to cash posting discrepancies
Contact customers to obtain or relay account information
Operate typing, adding, calculating or billing machines
Reconcile records of sales or other financial transactions
Perform general administrative tasks such as; answering phones, scheduling appointments and ordering supplies
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced skills with Excel including pivot tables and functions
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Conflict resolution skills with a positive attitude
Strong skill base and comfort with technology including; Microsoft Great Plains and Google Suite
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous office experience preferred
Previous accounting/billing experience preferred
