About the Role:

As a Camp Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for campers. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise and guide children in various activities, ensuring their well-being and fostering a sense of community. You will be instrumental in planning and implementing daily programs that promote teamwork, creativity, and personal growth. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor and role model, helping campers develop essential life skills and build lasting friendships. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to a memorable camp experience that encourages exploration and self-discovery among participants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 15 years old.
  • Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting.
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading outdoor activities or sports.
  • Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques.
  • Ability to speak a second language.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during all activities.
  • Plan, organize, and lead engaging activities and programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to campers, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment that promotes teamwork and respect.
  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.

Skills:

The required skills for this role include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building rapport with campers and effectively conveying instructions. Leadership skills will be utilized daily as you guide activities and manage group dynamics, ensuring that all campers feel included and valued. Problem-solving skills will come into play when addressing any challenges that arise, allowing you to adapt activities to meet the needs of diverse groups. Additionally, organizational skills will be crucial for planning and executing a variety of programs while maintaining a structured environment. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of outdoor activities, will enhance the camp experience by providing campers with unique opportunities for exploration and adventure.


Salary Information

$15.0 - $22.5 Annual Salary
