SUMMARY


The Staging Packer I is responsible  for sorting and moving packages to designated areas and performs various types  of product packing and shipping in accordance with established procedures  and/or commercial standards. The  Staging Packer I is also responsible for labeling items and packing items into  containers for shipping and ensuring that all items are packed, labeled, and  recorded appropriately in preparation for transport. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read      work order information to determine which item to sort into the designated      storage area.
  • Ensure the correct item is picked up by comparing      work orders against item and batch numbers.
  • Physically move or transport items ready for      delivery to the designated loading area.
  • Report any item damage to the warehouse supervisor.
  • Label items with the correct information, such as      date, shipping, price, and quantity, according to set instructions.
  • Process line labeling, stacking, and pallet      consolidation.
  • Move items to delivery pallets and assist loaders      with the stacking of items.
  • Ensure that all stored items are packed and stacked      according to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Load or unload materials onto or off pallets,      skids, or lifting device.
  • Identify workplace safety hazards.
  • Adhere to production schedules.

· Perform required administrative tasks; prepare all required reports and correspondence.

· Assist in maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in work area.

· Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

· Education:       High School Diploma or equivalent specific experience

· Minimum of one (1) year of related experience or equivalent.

· Possess a valid fork-lifting certificate.

  • Basic      proficiency in stock management and storage processes.

· Basic understanding of safety requirements for lifting and equipment maintenance.

· Ability to perform basic math calculations.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

· Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.

· Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.

· Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be      constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers). 

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be      constantly  required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch). 

· Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. 

· This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
