WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES)…
We are currently seeking a motivated, caring, and empathetic Art Therapy Group Facilitator Volunteer to join our team. This position works with the 14 adults residing in our residential group home in Middletown. A minimum availability to work is 1-2 hours biweekly for 16 weeks.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist clients with involvement in community connections and activities to expand social networks and community integration.
· Coordinate with group home personnel and facilitate art therapy sessions
· Co-facilitating Art Therapy sessions that focus on expressive arts, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and building community among residents
Requirements:
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…
· Exceptional communication skills with the ability to professionally communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of individuals.
· Caring and empathetic, with the desire to help others in need.
· Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
· Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
· 1 or more years of experience working in the human services field preferred.
· Art Therapy certification or completion of Art Therapy facilitator training program preferred.
