Summary The Surface HD Mechanic’s primary responsibility will focus on repairing, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhauling, and maintaining mobile heavy-duty equipment. About Us The Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Keno Hill, is one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world, is situated 350 kilometres north of Whitehorse, and lies within the traditional territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun. It comprises 242 square kilometres (km2) with numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical past-producing mine sites. Keno Hill is expected to produce 2.7-3.1 million ounces of silver in 2024 as the mine ramps up production. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. Winner of numerous safety and environmental awards, Keno Hill is seeking new team members committed to professional growth and success.Here’s what you can expect in this role:Ability to safely maintain, troubleshoot and repair on and off-road, heavy-duty equipment including but not limited to, haul trucks, highway tractors, trailers, loaders, dozers, graders, etc.Test repaired equipment and maintain proper performance.Work with mobile planners to ensure work orders are completed with detail and found work can be planned and scheduled. Ordering and maintaining inventory.Other duties may be assigned.You will help to promote a strong environmental culture, promoting and teaching environmentally friendly values and work practices.You will help to foster a strong safety culture, promoting and exemplifying safe work practices throughout the organization.You will be a part of team you can rely on; a team that will have your back.QualificationsCVIP certificate required or able to obtain.Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic or Highway Truck Red Seal Certification preferred.5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a remote camp environment.Electrical, hydraulic, engine and power train proficiency.Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Valid driver’s license.
