Job Summary:
The Chief Engineer, Laundry is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, boilers, compressors, and conveyor systems. This role also leads the maintenance department, ensuring equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and efficient plant operations while managing the facility, building systems, and grounds to maintain a safe and fully functional working environment.

As a Chief Engineer, You Will:

• Lead, train, and develop the maintenance team, setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and ensuring accountability for daily operations and long-term equipment reliability.
• Maintain and enforce safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe, organized, and clean work environment across all maintenance and operational areas.
• Manage maintenance inventory, parts procurement, and departmental budgets, coordinating with vendors and sourcing components through cross-referencing to ensure equipment uptime and cost control.
• Oversee repair, maintenance, and preventive maintenance programs for industrial washers, dryers, boilers, compressors, conveyors, and related plant equipment to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems, including compressed-air operated machinery, while performing inspections, troubleshooting, and equipment installations with minimal supervision.
• Interpret blueprints and electrical/electronic schematics to support equipment diagnostics, system improvements, and technical problem resolution.
• Ensure preventive maintenance schedules, system adjustments, and larger maintenance projects are completed on time and according to operational priorities.
• Plan, organize, and oversee plant operations support and facility improvements, including building maintenance and renovation projects.
• Evaluate maintenance programs, operational procedures, and service performance, implementing improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Monitor team performance and conduct employee evaluations, supporting training, development, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.

Skills/Requirements:

• Prior laundry operations experience preferred.
• Motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Flexible schedule including days/nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education:

• Associates degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in leading facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services.
