The Barista Supervisor oversees daily café floor operations and supports the barista team to ensure excellent beverage quality, efficient service, and a positive customer experience. This role helps coordinate workflow, provides hands-on guidance to staff, and ensures operational standards are consistently followed. The Barista Supervisor works closely with management to maintain smooth operations and strong team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily café floor operations and ensure smooth service during shifts.
- Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, and menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Provide leadership and direction to baristas during shifts by coordinating workflow and supporting team members.
- Ensure drinks are produced accurately, consistently, and efficiently, especially during peak periods.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of customer service and step in to assist with guest needs or concerns.
- Support training and onboarding of new baristas and provide ongoing coaching to maintain quality standards.
- Assign and monitor completion of shift tasks such as cleaning, restocking, and station organization.
- Assist with shift planning and delegation of responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee, milk, syrups, and supplies and communicate ordering needs to management.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Support opening and closing procedures and verify that all operational tasks are completed.
- Communicate operational issues, customer feedback, and team needs to management.
Qualifications:
- 1–2+ years of barista experience required.
- Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, café operations, and beverage quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during high-volume service periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced café environment.
