Position Summary


We are seeking a motivated and dependable Hybrid Front Desk Coordinator & Medical Assistant to join our team. This role combines administrative front office responsibilities with direct patient care support. The Medical Assistant component provides supplemental nursing care in conjunction with and under supervision, while the Front Desk component ensures an outstanding first impression and smooth administrative workflow.


Requirements:

Front Desk Coordinator Duties

  • Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Collect co-pays, co-insurances, and outstanding patient balances
  • Verify insurance and Medicare status
  • Accurately enter demographics and insurance information into EMR/EHR
  • Prepare new patient charts and scan/upload documentation
  • Assist patients with paperwork, arbitrations, and patient portal access
  • Answer internal and external phone calls
  • Schedule appointments and generate reminders
  • Generate reports from MSK systems
  • Assist with disability requests and transcription/dictation
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Assist with internal marketing slide creation and maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized front office environment
  • Attend meetings as requested
  • Perform additional duties as assigned 

  

Medical Assistant Duties

  • Adhere to clinic policies and procedures
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Prepare patients for evaluations, follow-ups, procedures, and injections
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and communicate procedures clearly
  • Obtain and document medical histories in EMR
  • Record vital signs accurately
  • Relay patient information to providers
  • Administer medications and injections
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Perform point-of-care testing (Strep, Urine HcG, Influenza, COVID rapid tests, urine analysis, glucose testing)
  • Venipuncture
  • Ear lavages
  • Breathing treatments
  • Assist with minor procedures 
  • Assist with turnover and cleaning of treatment rooms
  • Conduct preventative maintenance checks and equipment logs
  • Daily stocking of clinical areas
  • Provide aftercare instructions to patients
  • Assist patients with mobility when necessary (wheelchairs/gurneys)
  • Present a professional image at all times
  • Assist staff with additional duties as needed

Other Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, EMR/EHR systems, scheduling software)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Insurance verification and copay handling experience preferred
  • Ability to lift to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to assist with patient mobility when required
  • Physical and perceptive ability to perform direct and indirect patient care functions
