This position represents a highly responsible and dynamic role within the Community Development Department, requiring professional expertise, strategic coordination, and exceptional administrative skills. The Code Compliance Assistant Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by collaborating with neighborhoods, local residents, and various City departments and divisions. Key focuses will include revitalizing neighborhoods, addressing blight, and advancing initiatives to promote community health, safety, and overall well-being.<br><br>As the central coordinator for the City’s property programs, this individual will oversee and organize a variety of initiatives aimed at improving property standards and community resilience. The role involves close collaboration across multiple divisions within the Community Development Department and other departments, working under the guidance and leadership of the Code Compliance Manager to ensure successful program execution and impactful community outcomes.
<em>Any one position may not include all of the specific duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties that may be performed.</em><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Prepare correspondence to various agencies and individuals in response to specific inquiries about property programs.</li><li>Administer vacant property registry, rental property registry, and public nuisance abatement program.</li><li>Meet with residents and neighborhood groups and prepares and presents public outreach and education sessions concerning property programs and property maintenance code compliance.</li><li>Assists Code Compliance Manager executing contract to perform mowing, demolition, junk and trash removal, and boarding and securing of structures.</li><li>Performs property inspections as necessary.</li><li>Assists Code Compliance Manager with compiling data, preparing reports, and completing records requests.</li><li>Assists with development and execution of bid specifications and contracts for abatement services.</li><li>Manages invoicing and purchase orders for the division.</li><li>Serves as acting Code Compliance Manager in the Manager’s absence, including providing oversight, guidance, and support to staff to ensure continuity of operations.</li><li>Coordinate with other departments and divisions to assist citizens.</li><li>Maintain files.</li><li>Assist with research for new ordinances and develop code summary brochures and online FAQs.</li><li>Perform other related work and other duties as assigned.</li><li>Support a workplace culture of respect, engagement, and accountability.</li></ul>
<ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s License.</li></ul><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Minimum five years of experience in Code Enforcement and community engagement.</li></ul>
<br><ul><li>Ability to Lift and Carry Up to 25 Pounds <ul><li>Must be able to lift, carry, and transport materials such as documents, files, and equipment needed for daily tasks.</li></ul></li><li>Ability to Stand, Sit, or Walk for Extended Periods <ul><li>Must be able to remain on your feet for meetings, presentations, and outreach events.</li></ul></li><li>Ability to Drive and Travel Locally<ul><li> Ability to travel locally to attend meetings, visit properties, or conduct outreach events as required.</li></ul></li><li>Ability to Work in Various Environmental Conditions <ul><li>Comfort with working in different weather conditions during outdoor meetings or site visits.</li></ul></li><li>Ability to Perform Routine Physical Tasks Related to Program Administration <ul><li>Engaging in activities such as filing physical paperwork, delivering materials to different departments, and conduct walk through of properties, when necessary.</li></ul></li><li>Support a workplace culture of respect, engagement, and accountability.</li></ul>
