About This Role
As an Emergency Department RN at NVRH, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing urgent and emergent conditions. This role demands adaptability, clinical expertise, and compassionate communication as you respond to diverse medical situations in a critical access hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate and comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment for patients of all ages in emergency situations
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and operate specialized emergency equipment while adhering to evidence-based protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to stabilize patients and coordinate care transitions
- Educate patients and families during high-stress situations, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and mentor new staff within the Emergency Department
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
- Current Vermont or multi-state RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- TNCC preferred; PALS certification required within 1 year of hire Emergency nursing experience preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical skills and interest in emergency care are encouraged to apply
